I had the sweetest maternity session in the studio here in Batesville a few weeks ago! The studio is SO close to being finished; it's simple and sweet and bright and relaxing! I love it! I've had the honor of taking this family's photos before, so I felt very comfortable having them come in and test it out!
Speaking of being comfortable, one of the most important parts of your session is being comfortable with your photographer! It can make a HUGE difference in how you feel about your photos.
I believe that any session, regardless of type, is done best when you have a relationship with your photographer and fully trust them. This is especially important during maternity sessions when you can feel more vulnerable and less confident than normal. Even if you end up with absolutely GORGEOUS photos, if you didn’t feel comfortable or confident during your shoot, you’re going to feel differently about your photos. You may not even like them based on those negative feelings.
That’s why I LOVE getting to talk one-on-one with my clients beforehand. To not feel like strangers on shooting day! To know what you like, what you don’t like, what type of photos you’re after, what your kids’ names are. It’s the little things that make the most difference! And when you feel comfortable, you’ll look comfortable, and you’ll LOVE the way your photos turn out! ❤️
